Simply Montreal
Montrealers spend a good portion of the year braving freezing temperatures and snow covered streets, but when the weather warms up this city starts rockin'! Apart from the two-cheek kiss, nothing says Montreal like the weekly ritual at Mont-Royal Park that has come to be known as the Tam-Tam Jam. During the warm months, every Sunday morning until late afternoon, hordes of Montrealers congregate at the Jacques Cartier Monument located next to Park Avenue to enjoy the warm weather and listen to the rhythmic beats of hundreds of percussionists.
Just Like the 60's
Attracting a diverse crowd of local hippies and Sunday loungers, as well as tourists, hacky-sackers, picnickers and Frisbee players, the Tam Tam is like a blast from the past straight out of the 60's. Visitors are allowed to smoke weeds and bring alcoholic beverages but they have to pack a sandwich or food item for every beverage they bring.Tam Tam is one of the best events that Montreal has to offer.

A condom is the glass slipper for our generation. You slip one on when you meet a stranger. You dance all night, and then you throw it away.

Yeah, being at the tam tam is like being in woodstock...was awesome.
Zydeco is a type of Creole-Cajun-Bluegrass music from south of Louisiana.
